StarBand Windows Vista Upgrade FAQ
I have a StarBand Model 360, can I upgrade to Windows VistaTM?
No. The StarBand Model 360 Mission Control software is not VistaTM compatible.
I have a StarBand 480 Pro, 481, 484 or Nova system. Can I upgrade to Windows VistaTM?
Yes. First you should download the 484 and 481 modem configuration tool and save it to your PC. You will need this program if asked by Technical Support.
What are the minimum system requirements to upgrade to Windows VistaTM?
You can find the latest information on www.Microsoft.com/windowsvista. Some general guidelines:
- At least an 800mhz P-III processor (Microsoft recommends 3.0 Ghz)
- At least 512 MB of RAM (Microsoft recommends 1GB)
- At least 15GB of free hard disk space
- A DVD-Rom drive

Will StarBand help me with my Windows VistaTM upgrade?
No, StarBand technical support cannot assist you with issues surrounding your Windows VistaTM upgrade or installation.
Will Windows Vista make my StarBand service faster?
If you are experiencing problems with your online experience that are related to your computers health or performance, the move to newer hardware and software associated with VistaTM may help, but Windows VistaTM cannot increase the performance of your Internet connection.
I’ve read there are many versions of Windows VistaTM. Which versions will StarBand support?

Should I purchase a new computer to run Windows VistaTM?
As long as your computer meets the minimum requirements outlined at www.Microsoft.com/windowsvista you can run VistaTM. However, many features of VistaTM will be disabled if your computer does not meet the higher end requirements.
